Where is Valley Stream located?
Valley Stream is located at Mile 32 along the Hummingbird Highway in the Cayo District of Belize. It is a 200-acre citrus farm and jungle property surrounded by lush green hills, backing onto a large nature preserve in the Maya Mountains. It is the jungle chapter of a Very Private Islands stay, and pairs with our islands in the popular Surf and Turf package.
What are the booking terms?
A 20% deposit is required to secure your dates, with the balance due 90 days prior to your trip. Please review our terms and conditions for further details. We strongly recommend travel insurance to cover any trip interruption or cancellation.
What is check-in and check-out time?
Check-in is at 4:00 p.m. and check-out is at 10:00 a.m. We make every effort to accommodate early check-ins and late check-outs, but we cannot always guarantee these requests.
What happens when I arrive in Belize?
Upon arrival at Belize City (BZE), our greeter, Mr. Emilio, will meet your group just outside the customs and immigration area. He will guide you to the designated area for your shuttle or helicopter transfer.
How do I get to Valley Stream?
Once you book your flight to Belize City, your concierge will coordinate all domestic transfers. Private land transfers from Belize City are included. For stays of 7 or more nights, a complimentary one-way helicopter transfer on arrival is included. For shorter stays, roundtrip ground transfers are provided, with helicopter upgrades available upon request.
Will there be any other guests?
No. Valley Stream is totally exclusive. We only ever have one group with us at a time.
How many staff are available?
Generally we have a team of four to five staff, including a concierge, private chef, on-site manager, housekeeping, tour guide and massage therapist.
How is privacy maintained?
Privacy is paramount at Valley Stream. Our staff are discreetly stationed at their own residence, just a two-minute walk from the villa: close enough for quick service, but far enough to maintain privacy.
What is included?
Valley Stream is all-inclusive, and exact inclusions vary with your package. The standard package includes exclusive use of the property and staff as outlined above, meals and non-alcoholic beverages, domestic beer and spirits, on-site excursions, mountain bikes, transfers, and massages. One off-site excursion is included per three nights of stay, with choices including Mayan ruins, zip lining, cave tubing, cave trekking and horseback riding.
What is not included?
Additional mainland excursions beyond those included, diving or snorkeling excursions, wine and champagne from our reserve list, additional massages beyond those included, and gratuities for the team.
When should I send back the guest preference form?
Please send back your guest preference form 30 to 60 days prior to your trip.
What amenities are provided?
Guestroom conveniences include bar soap, shampoo, conditioner and hand lotion. A mini toothbrush, shaving kit and vanity kit are available. Bathrobes, slippers and beach towels are provided, along with sunscreen (SPF may vary) and bug spray.
How do meals work?
Your concierge will forward your preferences to your chef, who will create a custom menu. Please indicate any allergies or special requests so your chef can properly provision in advance. After arrival, your chef will discuss your preferred meal times and the level of service you desire. A snack basket with light refreshments is also available throughout the day.
How do I book tours?
On-site tours around the property do not require advance booking. Your concierge can take your group on property tours through the orchard, greenhouse and various streams, by ATV golf cart, bike ride or on foot. Off-site tours should be booked in advance to secure your preferred time and date.
How do spa services work?
Spa professionals travel to Valley Stream and are available between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Services include massages (relaxation, deep tissue, hot stone and couples massage), manicures, pedicures and facials. These services should be booked in advance to ensure availability.
Is there laundry service?
Yes. Personal linens placed in the provided laundry hamper are collected mid-week and again the day before checkout, so you can pack clean clothing. If you prefer more frequent laundry service, please inform your housekeeper on site.
Is there air conditioning?
Yes, air conditioning is available in the guestrooms, which can be completely sealed to allow the air conditioning to operate effectively. The remaining areas are designed with an open-air concept, taking advantage of the cool mountain breezes that flow through Valley Stream.
Do you have WiFi?
Yes, we have high-speed WiFi throughout the property.
What are the voltage and plugs used?
The property uses 120V power with North American-style plugs, so no adapters are required. Please bring your own charging cables for phones, cameras and other personal devices.
Are there insects?
The cool mountain breezes usually deter mosquitoes. Bug spray is available on site, and we recommend bringing lightweight, long-sleeved clothing in case you encounter mosquitoes around dusk or while hiking the jungle trails.
What happens in a medical emergency?
There is a fully staffed local clinic for minor issues. For major emergencies, helicopter evacuation to Belize City may be required. We recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover any events that might result in trip interruption or cancellation.
What is the recommended gratuity?
Gratuity is generally 10 to 15% of your rate, although any amount is appreciated. A credit card form is provided in your Welcome Folder, or you may leave cash in the designated sealed envelope. All gratuities are pooled and distributed among our staff equitably.
What should I bring with me?
We recommend walking shoes, a hat, a lightweight jacket, lightweight long-sleeved clothing for jungle trails, and sunscreen. Please also remember to bring any necessary medications.
