Where is Prince Island located?
Prince Island is located near San Pedro, on the lagoon side of Ambergris Caye, Belize, about 30 minutes by boat from the San Pedro docks. As our largest retreat, designed for families and groups of up to 22 guests, it offers an exclusive, all-inclusive island experience in a luxurious setting, with calm, protected water and easy access to San Pedro’s dining and nightlife.
What are the booking terms?
A 20% deposit is required to secure your dates, with the balance due 90 days prior to your trip. A minimum stay of four nights applies. Please review our terms and conditions for further details. We also recommend travel insurance to cover any trip interruption or cancellation.
What is check-in and check-out time?
Check-in is at 4:00 p.m. and check-out is at 10:00 a.m. We recommend arriving in Belize City by 1:30 p.m. to ensure sufficient time for transfers so you can reach the island before sunset.
What happens when I arrive in Belize?
Upon arrival in Belize City, you will be greeted by our team member, Emilio, outside customs and immigration. He will direct your group to the designated area for your transfers.
How do I get to the island?
Your international flight will arrive at Philip Goldson International Airport in Belize City (BZE). From there, most guests fly to San Pedro; our concierge can assist with booking these domestic flights, although they are not included in your rate. Upon arrival in San Pedro, speedboat transfers to and from the island are provided. Helicopter transfers are available as an upgrade.
Will there be other guests on the island?
No. Prince Island is offered to one group at a time, with exclusive use of the island for your stay.
Are meals and beverages included?
Yes. Prince Island’s rates include a private chef preparing three meals plus afternoon appetizers and snacks daily, along with standard local beverages, including sodas, domestic beer and spirits, served by your private bartender. Specialty items or upgrades to premium wines or spirits are available upon request, subject to availability and surcharges.
What is included?
Prince Island is all-inclusive: meals prepared by your chef with standard beverages, speedboat transfers to and from San Pedro on arrival and departure, a guided snorkeling excursion to Hol Chan Marine Reserve once per four nights, a sunset cruise once per stay, a Secret Beach boat trip once per stay, and speedboat trips to San Pedro once per four days, or two per seven-night stay. Your stay also includes up to four complimentary 60-minute massages per day, full concierge support, housekeeping, laundry and WiFi, a fully equipped gym, a full-size pickleball court, and kayaks and paddleboards.
What is not included?
Exclusions include domestic flights between Belize City and San Pedro, additional boat transfers and excursions beyond those included, diving, premium wine, champagne and premium spirits, extra massages beyond the allocated amount, and gratuities for the island team.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Absolutely. When you book, you will receive a guest preference sheet where you can indicate any dietary restrictions or meal preferences. Our concierge will follow up closer to your arrival to confirm menu details and address any specific needs.
When should I return the guest preference form?
The guest preference sheet is our way to get to know your needs. Please complete and return it as soon as possible. Our concierge will follow up 30 to 60 days before your trip to ensure every detail is tailored to your preferences.
How do I order premium wine or champagne?
Our concierge will provide a list of current offerings and pricing. Simply indicate your preference and quantity; upfront payment is required to complete the purchase.
How do I arrange excursions?
Your personal concierge will send a menu of available off-site excursions with details and pricing. While we recommend planning excursions in advance, arrangements can also be made on the island. Please note there is no snorkeling at the island itself, as it sits on the calm lagoon side; snorkeling is enjoyed on the included Hol Chan Marine Reserve excursions.
Do I need travel insurance?
We highly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances that might lead to trip interruption or cancellation.
Does the island have WiFi?
Yes. The island offers excellent WiFi.
Is laundry service included?
Yes. Personal guest linens placed in the laundry hamper are collected mid-week and again the day before checkout, ensuring you can pack clean clothing. If you require more frequent laundry service, please inform your housekeeper.
Is there air conditioning?
Yes, air conditioning is available in the bedrooms, which can be completely sealed to allow the air conditioning to operate effectively. The remaining areas are designed with an open-air concept, taking advantage of the cool ocean breezes.
What are the voltage and plugs used?
The island uses 120V power with North American-style plugs, so no adapters are required. Please bring your own charging cables for phones, cameras and other personal devices.
Are there insects?
The gentle sea breezes and small size of the island mean there are generally no biting insects. Our active maintenance program includes regular spraying and daily beach raking. Bug spray is available on site. We also advise keeping doors closed around sunset to minimize insects.
What happens in a medical emergency?
There is a clinic in San Pedro for minor issues. For major emergencies, evacuation to Belize City may be required. We recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover any events that might result in trip interruption or cancellation.
What is the suggested gratuity for staff?
Gratuity is discretionary; 10 to 15% is generally customary and greatly appreciated by the Prince Island team. A lock box is provided, and tips are divided among the staff based on pre-set guidelines to foster a team mentality.
What should I bring with me?
We recommend a rash guard (swim shirt), walking shoes, a hat, a lightweight jacket and sunscreen. Please also remember to bring any necessary medications.
